Have an upcoming session where you want a key group of people to brainstorm ideas to help hit the coming year (and out years) aggressive growth goals? Scott Mautz is skilled at conducting “BrainSteering” sessions—a much more powerful version of brainstorming.
Here’s how these sessions work:
Scott opens with an inspirational section to get the group in the right mindset for ideation and for thinking what’s possible.
He then takes the group (divided into smaller working groups) through a series of specially designed, provocative questions/exercises to identify possible “buckets of ideas” or building-blocks of game-changing growth.
The best ideas from each smaller, working group are then presented to the larger group for discussion and captured by Scott on a Building Blocks Heat Map.
Team voting can help narrow the ideation output and then Scott can lead the group through a process of assigning accountability and next steps for each agreed upon growth-generating idea.
