The need to plan and manage change successfully is more common and critical for a leader’s career than ever. With so many change efforts failing, and the expectation typically being that leading change has to happen on top of the “day job”, a specific roadmap for managing change is essential.
This course gives any leader, no matter his/her experience level with managing change, a playbook– a powerful, step-by-step approach to managing change, drawing from and building on key elements of all the best Change Management models in practice today. Underlying this is an important distinction; today’s leader of change must first understand the nature of change, what makes it so difficult to implement, and how people process change. It’s from this knowledge that the most effective approach to managing change is born.
Accordingly, the course begins with a brief introduction to the field of Change Management and quickly dives into the 8 truths of leading change, which leads into the need to conduct a Change Readiness Assessment, and then into the 3 specific change management phases that follow (informed by the truths of leading change). Each phase details key steps and considerations for the leader of change as well as what barriers to expect and overcome. Thus, the learner will be able to absorb and apply, step-by-step, a change management approach that beats the odds and leads to a successful change effort.
